SmartCity Malta Appoints “3 Bees JV” as Site-Wide Grading Contractors

SmartCity Malta has announced the appointment of “3 Bees JV” as the site-wide grading contactor for its development. Site-wide grading works include the entire SmartCity Malta site, encompassing all phases of the development.

The award of this tender follows the recent approval by MEPA for the site-wide grading application. 3 Bees JV, composed of V&C Contractor, Bonavia Brothers Co. Ltd and J Bonavia and Nephews Ltd, formed a joint venture for tendering for the site-wide grading works for SmartCity Malta.

The three contractors forming part of the joint venture have been operating for over a decade in the market. The three companies have demonstrated significant experience in the area of public sector works, confirming their credentials and qualifications to meet the requirements of SmartCity Malta.

The joint venture employs a highly trained and experienced workforce and has demonstrated best practices in mitigating constructions risks. Furthermore, the grading plan ensures the comfort of future SmartCity Malta business partners, by isolating construction work away from completed project phases. In this way noise and dust pollution is greatly reduced and health and safety measures are met.

The grading of SmartCity Malta will commence later on this month. Road works include the entrance boulevard to the site, the road leading to SCM01 will also be contoured together with the surrounding plots. This first phase of grading works will be completed ahead of SCM01′s public opening.
